I was born in Indianapolis, IN, but moved out to Phoenix, Arizona at an early age. I graduated from Chaparral High School in 1997 and Indiana University in 2002 with a BA in Religious Studies (Go Big Red!).
Shortly after graduating in 2002, while living near Cincinnati, OH, I was introduced by some mutual friends to a pastor there named Scott Brown. Scott and his family were early-on in the process of planning a move to Phoenix, AZ to plant a gospel-centered church. It didn't take long for Scott and I to form a friendship and for his vision of planting a church in my hometown to take root in my heart as well. I moved back in September of 2003 (just a few months after the Brown family themselves arrived) and New Valley Church officially launched in October of 2004. My abilities as a singer/songwriter/guitarist lended themselves to helping lead the worship team which, over the course of several years, developed into a full-time position with the church. In addition to continuing to lead the worship ministry, I also oversee several other teams including our small groups ministry ("cGroups" as we like to call them), and assist Scott in both preaching and administration.
I met my wife Kacie at New Valley Church in 2005 and we married in 2007. We have three beautiful daughters named Zoë, Milo and Felix.
